Usually stories about the Trail are kind of like observations of grass growing. These people want to meet a quota. Interesting story of friends who do 26 miles a day just to stay on schedule. Someone needs to tell them to calm down.

The Appalachian Trail has been extended to Eastern Canada as the International Appalachian Trail, and there are now plans to extend the IAT overseas to Greenland, western Europe and down to Morocco. The trail would follow the geologic “other half” of the Appalachian Mountains. To you AT hikers out there, would you be inspired to hike the full extent of the IAT overseas once it’s open? I’d be interested in your comment for an upcoming news story.

Wondering about a lady that I met at the Hikers Inn in Damascus called Gypsy Girl. She was pos from N. Zealand & had broken her ankle early on her hike, but seemed to have recovered well. Hope she’s progressing on the trail–just wondered about her progress. Thanks.
