After injury forced an early retreat from my attempt at a Japan thru-hike, I returned to Australia and started this blog as consolation: a way to describe the highs and lows of my adventures over the years. Although not 100% about the outdoors, there’ll be enough reminiscence about the Appalachian and Long Trails, plus my other solo adventures in the wilds of America, Japan and Australia, to keep outdoor enthusiasts happy. My goal is to go beyond the mundane facts and figures and keep things as wry, literate and entertaining as I can manage.
