These are my stories as a volunteer member of the very active Coconino County, Arizona, Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team. We get over 100 calls per year, searching for and rescuing hikers, climbers, skiers, and so forth in our country’s second largest county, which includes the San Francisco Peaks, the Navajo Reservation, and Grand Canyon. I also provide information about search and rescue equipment and skills.
