This site began in November of 2008 as a way to involve Photography and Hiking two of my great passions.
This site focuses on hiking Hundred Peaks Section (HPS), Desert Peaks Section (DPS) and San Diego County (SDC) peak lists created by the Sierra Club. There are trip reports and photography as I continue to check off peaks from these lists. There is also a rich mapping application where people can find elevation profiles, trail routes, peak locations and National Park and Forest Land.
BackpackFlyfishing.com is a blog for those who like to combine the sports of backpacking and fly fishing. It offers a lot of free information on meeting the specific challenges of fly fishing while on multi-day hiking trips. Denver-based Jason Klass started this blog in November of 2009 with the goal of helping others get into fly fishing on their backpacking trips.

My blog deals with the gear needed to hike in a lightweight and fun way instead of hauling your gear in the “traditional” >25kg backpack which most of the people still carry today. I cover all sorts of lightweight gear you may need, publish my own experiences with it and sometimes write about blogging, too.
talking about outdoor adventure
Walking, backpacking and wildcamping in the UK's wilder landscape, as well as a bit of local stuff. I like movement, the outdoors & (sometimes) the peace & quiet of my own thoughts and actions. Walking in wild places does it for me.

I was contacted by Leighton Harker who is the site admin for Outdoor Bloggers. Although this is not a blog, it is a great place to find other hiking and backpacking bloggers as well as join in on discussions relating to outdoor activities. Here is an official description of the forum:
"This is your space to discuss outdoor blogging with your peers. It has been created from an idea first floated by Chris Cowell In Chris’s words – “As the UK outdoors blogging scene starts to gather momentum, what with John’s UOBC2007 Roadshow and the meet at the Outdoors Show, I propose a society, a forum, a place away from our blogs, ‘comments’ areas and OM where we can chat and discuss the future of outdoor blogging and podcasting. Somewhere to talk shop. Then our blogs can concentrate on the outdoors. That’s what our readers want”
The Bearded Git is a well organized hiking and backpacking blog dedicated to the outdoor adventures of a UK hiker. Some high quality picture gallery’s are provided. If you hike in the UK, you’ll want to see what BG has been up to.

This blog is about hiking in Alberta. The site currently includes a growing database of hikes which include detailed directions, topographical overview, descriptions, photos, and GPS tracks for download. The site also includes a blog on hiking. In the future(hopefully after this weekend) the site will host a forum so hikers in Alberta can plan outings, sell gear and discuss conditions.
