Hiking 100 peaks in San Diego and writing a book about it
Started in June of 2009, this blog details my trip reports on summiting 100 peaks in San Diego, selected gear reviews, general outdoor news (mostly San Diego-based) and profiles on local non-profit organizations dedicated to protecting and expanding our public lands. I encourage people to get outside, promote stewardship of the outdoors and engage people in the spirit of the wilderness.
I have traveled quite a bit and include travel reports. I am an avid photographer and include photos of everywhere I go.

Blogging from: San Diego, CA, but will discuss other outdoor and travelling trips.

Ulster Walker is written by Keith Brownrigg an outdoor enthusiast from Helen’s Bay, Northern Ireland. The blog began in summer 2009 as a “live” blog whilst walking the 600 mile Ulster Way raising money for the Lifeboats. It continues mainly as a record of recent outdoor adventures, but also includes thoughts on music, design and anything else that I find interesting.

Hiking is about exploring the unknown, the unexpected, meeting people along the way and hearing their life stories. At the same time, trying to reach a goal, a high peak and feel like on top of the world. And finally about being in constant touch with nature, enjoying this wonderful planet we live in. This blog is about an outdoorsy Brazilian girl that now lives in busy London, but never forgot about her roots close to nature and is trying to keep her passion for hiking alive.
Anthony’s Audio Journal is a blog featuring links to my audio podcast about hiking and backpacking in Southern California and the Eastern Sierra Mountain . In each episode I give a description of where I’m hiking and a little history about the area. I use a stereo recorder to capture audio along the trail and conduct interviews with folks I meet along the way. Each episode also features music and effects to make the experience entertaining.
You can find Anthony’s Audio Journal on Itunes or on my web site
In the past five years since I started solo hiking and camping, I have encountered a lot of reactions, from the awed (”I could never do that, it must be amazing”) to the critical (”that is unnecessarily dangerous and stupid, and so are you”) to the curious and interested (”aren’t you bored/lonely/scared?”). I have often wished there was some resource or guide I could have looked to for advice and encouragement, and so…Her Side of the Mountain was born. May you learn from my mistakes, failures, joys and successes.
